Maria Lolo - English
Hey there, my name is María, and I offer holistic counseling and psychedelic preparation and integration. Through an accepting and integrative approach, I aim to support you in reconnecting with yourself and becoming familiar with your inner resources. Together, we‘ll create a warm, non-judgemental, and supportive space where every part of you is welcome.
I accompany people facing a variety of mental, emotional, and relational challenges, as well as those who, without current challenges, are in a process of self-discovery. My focus areas include major life transitions, queerness and LGBTQAI+ affirming care, anxiety, relationships and attachment, entheogenic/psychedelic work, and spirituality.
Informed by transpersonal therapy, introspective practices, somatics, neuropsychological findings, and the natural world, some of the pillars and values guiding my practice are:
Pillar #1: The interconnectedness of life. Our experiences are shaped by the interplay between our internal and external worlds— by the dynamic dance between beliefs, emotions, relationships, and surroundings.
Pillar #2: Belonging is a core need. We all need physical and emotional safety and genuine connection to thrive. Our experiences and relationships, especially early ones, shape our perceptions of ourselves, others, and the world. Hurt happens in relationships and is healed in relationships. Through connections where we are seen and valued, we can reshape these views and foster growth and healing.
Pillar #3: The importance of making the unconscious conscious. We often fall into repetitive patterns, finding ourselves in similar situations without knowing why. Our automated reactions are frequently based on social conditioning, trauma, and childhood experiences. Although these responses may have been helpful at some point, they often become outdated. Identifying unconscious material and understanding the roots of these patterns allows us to find more freedom and choice in life.
Pillar #4: Our bodies are a source of wisdom and joy. They are a source of wisdom and energy that supports our well-being and our ability to connect. Many of us have lost touch with our body’s intelligence and joy due to criticism, injury, or trauma. By relearning to feel and trust our bodies, we can rediscover overall well-being and pleasure in our lives.
Offerings
Holistic Counseling
Holistic counseling looks at the whole person and recognizes the interdependence of the various aspects of their life, such as physical health, emotional responses, thought patterns, relationships, environment, and spiritual beliefs.
By opening a non-judgmental and curious space, we will work towards creating a comprehensive and deep understanding of your experience and your system as it stands. We will invite in the resources you already have, as well as develop new ones. Through a combination of conversation, introspection, and embodiment practices, I will support you in strengthening your connection to yourself and those around you, and in integrating the different parts that make you whole.
Psychedelic Preparation and Integration
A significant part of my work is dedicated to psychedelic preparation and integration, a field I began exploring 10 years ago. Expanded states of consciousness and entheogens/psychedelics are powerful tools for transformation and healing. This work is best seen as a process, with every part affecting the whole, making preparation and integration as important as the experience itself. During preparation, we cover aspects like safety, expectations, and intentions, as well as practices to enhance openness to the experience. Post-experience, we explore and process what arose, integrate insights, and translate them into meaningful changes for your daily life.
I meet you wherever you are in the process, and together, we meet the process wherever it is. During preparation we cover aspects like safety, expectations, intentions, as well as practices to enhance openness to the experience. Post-experience, we explore and process what arose, integrate insights, and translate them into meaningful changes for your daily life.
Sessions & Pricing
Currently, most of my offerings are online. I occasionally co-facilitate in-person retreats and workshops. Inspired by my personal experience of the transformative power of groups and our need for community, my intention is to gradually dedicate more time to group offerings.
I offer a free 30-minute introductory session to see if we would like to work together. If you’re interested in booking such a session or have any questions, please send me an email with some information about yourself and what brings you here.
Sessions are priced as follows:
60-minute session: 70€ - 85€.
90-minute session: 85€ - 100€
* The higher rates help make sessions more accessible for people with less economical resources. If you are in a position to support others, please let me know.
* If you are in deep need of support and these fees are too high, please get in touch, and we‘ll work something out.
About me
Understanding how we relate to ourselves, each other, and the natural world has always been my passion. Initially, I believed research would be the best way to explore this passion. However, shortly before completing my Master's in Neuropsychology, I realized academia wasn't meant for me. This led me to pursue a path where I could work directly with people.
Around that time, a bike accident that led to months of recovery taught me about the body’s wisdom. This experience showed me how interconnected our mind, body, and spirit are, and kickstarted a personal journey that has deeply shifted my relationship with life.
When I moved to Berlin, I started creating my manifesto for a holistic approach to counseling and a space that would serve as a haven and a meeting point for people with similar values/curiosities: Ōsmos Studio.
Ōsmos Studio Neukölln closed its doors at the end of 2022. And I, after a decade abroad and midway through my training in psychedelic therapy, felt the need to spend more time back home in Spain, reconnecting with my roots and the mountains and valleys where I grew up.
