Holistic Counselor

EN/ES

Holistic Counseling takes into account not only the mind but also the physical and spiritual elements of the individual. This is an integrative and human-centred method that focuses on unlocking the client's inner resources to solve problems, heal and achieve their goals. My objective is to create a comfortable space that enables you to explore these aspects at your pace with me as your support partner.

The main pillars of my approach

Pilar #1 Interconnectedness

All our experiences are formed by the interaction between our internal and external environments.  Between, for example, our beliefs, emotions, breathing patterns, relationships and physical surroundings. Forming a complex whole that operates as one system. The goal is to understand your system as it stands and rework it where needed.

 Pilar #2 Attachment

Humans have a need for physical and emotional safety, as well as a need for real connection. Early relationships, especially those with our parents and/or caregivers, eventually sculpt the views we hold about ourselves, others, and the world. They guide us in the development of the models we live by, both positively and negatively. These views and models are deeply ingrained, but can always be reshaped.

 Pilar #3 The Unconscious

Time after time, we observe ourselves falling into the same patterns; participants to similar situations, not knowing why we ended up there or how to navigate them differently. This is often a result of underlying beliefs. Identifying unconscious material and understanding the root of these patterns is essential for breaking out of them.

 Pilar #4 The Body

The body is a living, ever-changing source of intelligence, information, and energy that provides ongoing support for our physical and mental functioning. The body is seen as the theatre of our emotions, memories and perceptions that manifest as signals. However, because for many of us our bodies have been the object of criticism, disappointment, frustration, unwanted attention, abuse or injury these signals often go unnoticed or ignored; causing us to lose confidence in our bodies inherent intelligence. Feeling at home within your body allows us to comfortably engage in everyday tasks, interactions and maximise our well-being.

Sessions

I work with clients experiencing a spectrum of emotional, behavioural, relational and physical imbalances. With a special focus on major life transitions, queer matters, and attachment difficulties.

The process will involve us exploring the beliefs you hold about yourself, others and the world. We will see how these beliefs affect not only your emotions, thoughts, and behaviour but also how your body feels and moves. By weaving theoretical and practical knowledge, we will work towards increasing your connection to your body, and towards creating habits and beliefs aligned with who you are or who you would like to become. Therefore, creating a more holistic sense of self.

I will support you, from our first meeting, in identifying resources, so you feel safe within your skin as well as past and present experiences. Following an integrative approach, our work together will involve a combination of verbal communication and somatic practices.

About me

After finishing my Masters in Neuropsychology, I directed my focus to mental health. However, I was disappointed with the limited number of psychological practices that integrated the mental, physical and spiritual elements of the individual.

The propeller for me adopting a holistic method to mental health was my own ongoing personal inner exploration; awakened by a bike accident that led to months of recovery and rehabilitation. I had no choice but to stop, pause, reflect and face uncharted territory.

Since this chapter, I have come to understand many things about the body, discovering how similar to our minds they store memories, feelings and tension. Everything is connected and manifests into how we physically move and carry ourselves. Finding how to unlock this was my next step, so I started training in body centred techniques.

Moving to Berlin, was when I started creating my manifesto, of a holistic approach to Counselling and a space that would act as a hub for like-minded projects; Ōsmos.
