EN/DE

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian discipline, its name stems from Sanskrit and means “science of life.” It is essentially the practice of developing a deep sense of awareness of who you are in relation to the world around you. Its principles are rooted in harmony with nature, personalized treatments, and the belief that optimal health is achieved through the balance of mind, body, and spirit.

The core principles of Ayurveda revolve around the understanding of the five elements — Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether — and the three doshas: Vata (air and ether), Pitta (fire and water), and Kapha (earth and water). These doshas govern various physiological and psychological aspects of the human body.

According to Ayurveda, each individual possesses a unique combination of these elements. The goal of Ayurvedic treatment, an essential one being massage, is to maintain or restore the balance of these elements in the body, as imbalances are believed to lead to illnesses and disease.

What to expect:

There are 8 important ‘Marma’ or energy points on the face and head that are responsible for creating regulated blood flow and stabilising energy.

We will be stimulating these energy points using high quality herbal oils that enter the skin and reach the tissues. This supports our tissues by detoxifying stagnant toxins as well as toning facial muscles. Repeated gentle pressure on several energy points create an equilibrium of the lymphatic, nervous, and circulatory systems.

The energy points that will be stimulated during the massage will be on the face, head, neck and chest.

Benefits:

  • tones facial muscles

  • Improves facial complexion

  • Detoxification of stagnant toxins

  • Lymphatic drainage

  • Relaxes the nervous system

  • Balances energies thorough the body

Benefits are experienced immediately. To experience its long term benefits, face massage is recommended once a week.

Face massage is not recommended for those that are suffering from a cough, cold, fever or inflamed skin.

About me:

My name is Mallika, and I have been living in Berlin for 3 years. I grew up in India, in a family where holistic and preventative health care, specifically following Ayurvedic traditions, were a norm. Ayurvedic therapies, yoga and meditation were and still are important practices in my life. I left India 9 years ago, and while traveling around the world and living in new countries, staying grounded with the help of a few practices have supported me in many ways. I have a new found appreciation and understanding of the ancient science of Ayurveda, and this led me to study and practice Ayurvedic massage and Panchakarma.

I truly believe in the importance of living with awareness and therefore remaining conscious about what we ingest into our bodies. This could be the food we eat, information we consume or the music we listen to. Ayurvedic massage, to me, is one of the aspects of this intentional living. It is one way of loving and supporting our body and mind by rebalancing our energies and expelling toxins when practiced once a week at least.

My goal is to support you in rebalancing the energies in your body and giving your face and head- which hold several ‘Marma’ or energy points- the love that they regularly need.

I also offer short consultations on your Ayurvedic body type on request. This would allow you to understand if any of the 3 main elements in your body are out of balance, and how you can support yourself to regain balance.
